Journey to China

We are currently in China and will be here between October 9th and 25th, 2006. To make sure the site loads speedily, we are only displaying a few days on the blog pages, but as we work through each day, I am going to link to the blog post that we did for that day within the itinerary below. October 9:

STL to Detroit: Northwest 1448
10:18am - 12:50pm

Detroit to Tokyo: Northwest 11
3:20pm - 5:35pm on Tuesday, 10/10

Tokyo to Beijing: Northwest 11
6:25pm - 9:25pm

October 10:

Arrive in Beijing via NW 11 at 9:25pm. Will be met at Beijing airport by Beijing Oriental Century Internaltional Travel Service. Stay at Beijing International Hotel.

October 11:

Free day:

Jingshan Park
Silk Street shopping
Xidan district
Peking duck dinner at Qianjude

October 12:

Free day:

Beihai Park and Starbucks
Afternoon nap - beat back the jetlag
Impromptu dinner after looking for country western bar in Beijing.

October 13:

Summer Palace
Meet up with travel group
Chinese acrobatic show
Large family-style dinner with group

October 14:

Visit Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and Hutong Tour

October 15:

Visit Great Wall and Cloisonne Factory.

October 16:

Beijing to Nanning: CA 1335. Depart 7:35, Arrive 11:05. Stay at Majestic Hotel.
Gotcha Day! Pick up Ellie in the afternoon!

October 17:

Adoption registration and notarization

October 18:

Free day.

October 19:

Visit Qing Xiu Hill Park.

October 20:

Receive all of the adoption documents.
Nanning to Guangzhou: CZ 3293. Depart 8:00pm, Arrive 9:00pm. Stay at the White Swan Hotel.

October 21:

Visa pictures and medical exam.

October 22:

Free day.

October 23:

Visa appointment.
Birthday party for Ellie!

October 24:

3:00pm - go to consulate to take oath and pick up visa.
Guangzhou to Shanghai: CZ 3547. Depart 6:35pm, Arrive 8:30. Stay at Shanghai Pudong Ramada Hotel.

October 25:

Shanghai to Tokyo - Northwest 26
10:00am - 2:00pm

Tokyo to Detroit - Northwest 26
3:10pm - 1:40pm

Detroit to St. Louis - Northwest 1679
3:22pm - 4:02pm
